You’ve insured your equipment and yourself. But what about your rangeland? When drought hits, it can seriously affect your bottom line. That’s why BankWest Insurance recommends Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) Insurance to most of its agribusiness customers.
A PRF policy covers perennial pasture, rangeland or forage which is used to feed livestock. It allows you to choose a minimum of two, two-month periods when precipitation is essential for forage growth. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) then calculates precipitation totals for 12-square-mile geographic grids during this time period and determines losses, based upon rainfall deviations.
The annual sign-up deadline for PRF is November 15.
